We require that you consume no caffeine the day of your treatment.

Consultation and Patch Test (if required)

Attend a consultation with your technician to discuss your goals, medical history, and any concerns. If a patch test is recommended, it should be conducted at least 48 hours before the procedure to check for any allergic reactions to pigments.

No Accutane

You must be off any kind of Accutane for a minimum of one year before undergoing the procedure.

No Glycolics, Chemical Peels, and Retin-A

Discontinue the use of glycolics, chemical peels, and retinoids (Retin-A) on the treatment area for at least four weeks before the procedure.

No Botox or Fillers

If you use Botox or dermal fillers, schedule your permanent makeup appointment at least two weeks before or after these treatments.

6 Weeks 

• Discontinue the use of active skincare treatments (e.g., anti-aging serums, peels, exfoliating scrubs).

3 Weeks

• Discontinue the use of Latisse or any lash hair growth serum on your eyebrows.

2 Weeks

• Refrain from facials and applying facial oils.

1 Week

• Minimize sun exposure to prevent sunburn, which can affect the pigment application.
• Refrain from using any over-the-counter blood thinners like aspirin and ibuprofen.
• Discontinue fish oil until after the treatment.
• If you're on blood thinners, please consult with your healthcare provider about temporarily adjusting or stopping them prior to your cosmetic tattoo procedure. You can typically resume taking them immediately after the procedure. Please let us know what your doctor suggests.

72 Hours

• Cannabis can make you more sensitive to pain. To ensure a comfortable experience, we recommend avoiding cannabis products for at least 72 hours before your appointment.

48 Hours

• Discontinue vitamins until after the treatment. 

24 Hours 

• Avoid consuming caffeine, alcohol, or blood thinners (e.g., coffee, caffeinated tea, pain relievers) as these substances can increase bleeding during the procedure.
• If you have oily skin, gently exfoliate the treatment area the day before your appointment.
• Avoid strenuous exercise on the day of your appointment to minimize sweating and potential discomfort.
• Limit your water intake 3 hours before your appointment to reduce the likelihood of swelling during the procedure.

• Antibiotics: If you're on antibiotics, please complete your course before scheduling your appointment. Consult with us to determine the appropriate waiting period.
• Cold Sores: If you have a history of cold sores, consult your doctor for a prescription for Acyclovir. Begin taking it three days before your appointment and continue for three days after the procedure.
• Skin Care: Avoid deep exfoliation treatments like chemical peels at least three weeks before your appointment.
• Injections: Refrain from Botox or filler injections around your lips one week prior to your appointment.
• Medications
  • Blood Thinners: Discuss with your doctor the possibility of temporarily discontinuing blood thinners. Please let us know their recommendation. Refer to our blood thinner FAQ for more details.
  • Over-the-Counter Medications: Avoid over-the-counter blood thinners like aspirin.
• Lifestyle
  • Heat and Sun Exposure: Avoid saunas and tanning.
  • Supplements: Discontinue fish oil and Vitamin E.
