• Avoid touching, picking, or scratching your eyebrows,  as this can cause scarring or pigment loss.
• Avoid makeup in the brow area for 10 days.
• Apply a gentle ointment or moisturizer as instructed by your artist.
• Stay away from swimming, saunas, UV exposure, tanning beds, acne products, hydroxy acids, laser light therapy, facials, threading, waxing.
• Avoid strenuous activities that cause sweating for 10 days.

First 24-48 Hours

• Expect mild swelling, thickening, and/or redness to appear.
• Let your brows relax and do not wet (use the brow visor when showering).
• Do not apply moisturizer.
• Do not touch them. 

2-7 Days

• Always wash your hands before touching or cleansing the brow area.
• Gently wash your eyebrows twice daily with water and an antibacterial soap (Cetaphil or Neutrogena). Use your fingertips to cleanse the area gently, wiping in an outward motion.
• After washing, pat dry and allow to dry completely.
• Apply a very thin layer of ointment to the area twice daily using a Q-tip until all scabs have fallen off naturally.

After Healing

• Healing takes about 30 days, with minimal discomfort. 
• Cosmetic brow procedures can last 1 to 3 years, depending on factors like lifestyle, skin type, and aftercare. 
• Once healed, apply sunscreen with an SPF of 50 or higher to the brow area. 
• Avoid using chemical exfoliants or undergoing laser treatments near the brows, as these can affect the ink color.

Remember, following proper aftercare guidelines is essential for optimal healing and achieving the best possible results with a permanent makeup procedure.

• To relieve swelling, apply a soft gel icepack. 
• Ibuprofen or Benadryl may be used if needed.
• Always wash your hands before touching your lips.
• There will be a bit of seepage on your lips for the first hour, blot with a clean tissue.
• Clean lips gently with a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil or Neutrogena. Avoid touching or picking at lips. Do not apply makeup, lip balm, or skincare products. Protect lips from direct sunlight.
• Keep lips moist with provided aftercare, avoid over-saturating the lips with the healing balm and do not let them become too dried out.
• Repeat cleansing process in the morning and evening for 5 days.

First 24 Hours

• Avoid super spicy foods.

1-5 Days

• Keep foreign body fluids away from the lips. Refrain from activities that cause extreme sweating. Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, or bodies of water. Stay away from UV exposure, including tanning booths. Do not undergo massages, facials, or other skin treatments.

2-7 Days

• Do not apply any lip makeup.
• Avoid drinking through a straw, kissing, and hot/spicy foods.

30 Days

• Avoid exfoliants, retinol acids, glycolic acids, or alpha hydroxy acids on the lips.

4 Weeks

• Avoid facial treatments.

What to Expect at Your Touchup

• The color may fade approximately 30-50% lighter when the scabs fall off, which is normal.
• Touch-ups are a great opportunity to customize your look. We can lighten it up or go for a bolder shade.

Things To Avoid

• Irritants: Chemical exfoliants, heavy creams, and excessive sweating.
• Makeup: Apply no makeup to the eye area.
• Scabs: Do not scratch or remove scabs.
• Products: Avoid Vaseline, Neosporin, and petroleum-based products.
• Water: Stay away from pools, hot tubs, and bodies of water.
• UV Exposure: Avoid tanning beds and excessive sun exposure.
• Laser Therapy: Avoid laser light therapy.
• Sweating: Avoid activities that cause excessive sweating for 3 days.

First 24 Hours

• Cleanse: Gently splash your eyes with water to remove pigment residue. Pat dry with a clean tissue.
• Swelling: Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling (if needed). You may take over-the-counter pain relievers (ibuprofen or Benadryl) as directed.

Days 2-3

• Cleanse: Wash your eyeliner twice a day with a gentle, unscented cleanser. Pat dry gently.
• Avoid picking or peeling scabs. Swelling and redness should subside.

Days 4-14

• Cleanse: Continue washing your eyeliner twice daily.
• Aftercare Product: Apply the provided aftercare product 2-3 times a day.

Long-Term Care

• Fading: It's normal for the color to fade slightly. Touch-ups are recommended every 12-18 months.
• Sun Protection: Apply sunscreen (SPF 20+) to your eyeliner after it heals completely.
• Avoid Chemical Exfoliants: These can cause fading.

While a  permanent makeup procedure is generally considered a safe and effective procedure, it's important to be aware of potential concerns that may arise.

Infections

• While there is a chance of infection if sterile supplies are not used, Exceptional Artistry follows strict health & safety protocols.
• We use only single use, sterile needles, sterile inks & sterile supplies.
• Infections may also occur due to improper after care and cleansing.
• Please follow all provided aftercare instructions.

Scar tissue Formation

• While rare, scarring and hyperpigmentation can be potential side effects of cosmetic tattoos. 
• If you have a history of keloid formation, please discuss this with your artist prior to the procedure. 
• Our artists use specialized techniques to help prevent scarring.

Here's what you can do to minimize potential concerns

• Communicate your expectations: Clearly communicate your desired eyebrow shape, color, and overall look to your artist.
• Follow aftercare instructions: Adhere to the aftercare instructions provided by your artist to ensure proper healing and minimize the risk of complications.
